Coal Mining Risk Assessments

Coalfields are divided into high and low risk areas. A high risk area is where there are hazards that are likely to affect a new development. As part of the planning process (Planning Policy Guidance 14– Development on Unstable Land), planning applications in coal mining areas are being referred to the Coal Authority and those deemed to be in high risk areas require a Coal Mining Risk Assessment.

GIP provides Coal Mining Risk Assessments prepared by Chartered Geologists with over 20 years of experience in the field to assist in supporting your planning application.
