Central Park, Avonmouth
Stoford Developments have commissioned GIP to carry out a number of ground investigations for the construction of large distribution centres at Central Park, Avonmouth.
The largest of these is the 1,200,000 sq ft facility (still under construction) for The Range, shown below.
The fieldworks have involved numerous intrusive investigative techniques in both soil and rock, including cable percussion boreholes, trial pits, rotary boreholes and cone penetration testing.
Post fieldwork, a range of geotechnical and environmental testing was carried out, with GIP producing interpretive reports, including recommendations for foundation design.
